Information for this page is still being compiled by the Sheriff's Civil Division. Civil performs all local activities associated with handgun licensing.
In some cases however, we're aware that citizens have already called and gotten the information ... and are just waiting for the forms to be made available online. So here they are.

At right in PDF FORMAT, is the basic CHL application. Complete the 1701, 1702, 1705, and the 1707. Forms are essentially self explanatory. Then download 1706 as a part of the complete application and bring all five pages to the Sheriff's Office. Because you will require fingerprinting, under most circumstances, if you come to the Sheriff's Office Tuesday through Friday between 9:00am and 10:30am, or 1:30pm and 3:00pm, we should be able to complete your application process in one day.

The application is also provided in MS WORD format. This is a form field document. Simply tab through the page, answer the questions, and when you're finished, print the document. Remember also to bring page 1706 with you to the Sheriff's Office.

If you already have a CHL and now you have a change of address or a legal change of name, such as through marriage, complete the form at right (both PDF and Word available). Then bring the form to the Sheriff's Office during your next visit.
